    Sales Advice?

I'm thinking about expanding our web presence but are we better to buy another license or upgrade to Developer, is this really only for 'development' use as the title suggests or is it permissable to run several live active sites with a developer license?

On that basis could site 1 and site 2 operate with different currencies? Assume so as I'd imagine all files are incremented and loaded to a unique webspace as specified in the web settings.

Advice and special offer upgrade prices ( ) all appreciated.

The devleoper version allows you to export themes etc but has the same basic functionality as business. It depends on if you are likely to add in another website any time in the future - if so the developer version allows unlimted site creations and is worth the extra money in the long run.

Bare in mind that v8 is due out "sometime in the summer" so it may be worth waiting until then (if you can) to see what extra bits are included over v8

...so with Developer we could run live and by that I mean trading sites of our own in multiples without the requirement to purchase additional licences?

What I don't want to happen is to start this and then someone from 'God' level in Actinic tell me that this is meant to be for development and evaluation of client sites, that we need additional licences for each site regardless.

As I'd guess that as a designer you develop a site and then pass that onto the client whom then purchaces a licence from Actinic, which is where this product is targeted at creation of such clients. Thus generating revenues for Actinic whilst allowing the flexibility for designers to do their work... ...just being sure, you know how cloudy these things can get.

... yes ... you can run your own live sites so long as you are the one who is doing the downloading.... the term "developer" is a little misleading but it does allow template creation and site deployment

As you say - if you designed a site for a 3rd party they would require their own license or Order Manager to retreive orders.

May be worth giving Actinic Sales a quick call just to put your mind at ease before forking out
