multi user stock

I've installed actinic at a clients giving them "Order processing" only. I kept all the other rights (design, catlogue, etc) as they want me to build a whole new section type and upload new stock.
If they're processing the orders and can't upload to the server anymore how do the stock levels change?
Or have I made a total mess of it (again)

If you have split order processing, you can't use stock control unfortunately.
