    Changing position of Search field/box

    Hello people,

This is what i want to do:
The search field below the top naviagtion bar in the middle of the page.
The search bar should be on its own bar and with a larger text box.
And with an 'advanced search' link along side it.

    |top navigation bar with drop down menus|
    |search text box|search button|advanced search|

Basically I have attempted to change a couple of things to accomplish this but I seem to make things worse.

Essentially I would like advice on what 'Parent' files I should be editing and what part of these files I should be changing.

Thanks a million guys for all your help in advance!

    Hi,

the best way to see which template is creating what is to untick "compact cgi and html" box under Design | Options | Misc

Preview the page under actinic and then do a view source in the browser window ... all the templates are shown under HTML comments.

If you have DreamWeaver you can install the Actinic plugin and open the previewd page (it will be in the PreviewHTML folder) and you will see a whole host of Actinic markers in the code which again show the templates being used.

Don't forget to tick the "compact" box again prior to uploading the site.
