More Than One Product Per Line ???

    Hey Guys........

Just wondering if anybody can tell me if there is a way to put more than one product on a line. Currently i add a product and it just adds to a downward list. I would like to have 2,3 or four products next to each other.

    Thank-you......

Sean - there are a few posts here on this - a search for multi column layout should find them. The information is also in the Advanced User Guide under the same title, and there are some variations available (may be donationware) at www.drillpine.biz

      Thanks Bill.....Worked like a treat !! Woo Hoo......but.......(and there is a but)
Do you know how to space/spread them apart a little ??....When it forms 2 columns (or 3 or 4).... it almosts looks like they are joined together ??....I read elsewhere that this a bit trickier than creating the columns...

I hate being the newbie !!!....lol

When you purchase the program (Version 7) what do you get ???

I don't actually have the code in front of me, but basic html for tables would point to adding/increasing the cellpadding= or cellspacing= attributes on the table cell <td> tags. A bit of trial and error (once you have safely backed up the original) should find a solution.

more grey hairs to pull out

Seriously, the license key that allows you to run your shop online. (Actinic monitor the web and check licences/urls on a regular basis). Everything else is in the trial package or already reachable on this forum or through the Actinic Support website.

Oh blimey, this is even worse for me because I really don't understand where I'm supposed to amend the code.

Sorry to be dim, but I would like to make use of drillpines enhancement..but have got no idea where I'm supposed to edit.

Can someone spell it out for me? Pretty please. Catalog v7.

Got lots to do tonight and not really the time to play....

            Debbie,

I followed these instructions from this post: http://community.actinic.com/showthr...oductBody.html

My layout can be found here: http://www.hobuk.co.uk/acatalog/HW131.html

Works very well just remember to copy the following into another folder in my documents just incase!!
            Act_ProductBody.html
Act_ProductLine.html (with this i kept the origional but created a new one within the site oner folder called Act_ProductMulti.html

            Thanks

Lee, I think you must be a pretty clever chap.

I've followed the instructions to the letter (my biggest problem was realising it was the templates I had to change and then where to find them!)

              I now have two problems.
              1. I've managed to generate script errors when changing to multi column layout. Duh??
              2. The products look right, but they are still below each other and not three across the page.

Am I right in thinking you left your top fragment as, say, product to the left of text and title.
Then you changed the next 3 fragments as the multicolumn layout. ?

If so, what am I doing wrong?

Be grateful for any light anyone can shed.
              many thanks.

                Debbie,

I'm not the clever one thats down to the people that write these templates!!

When you preview the page you have altered are you allowing the blocked javascript in Internet Explorer (yellow box that pops up along the top of the page) this will only appear if you are on Windows XP.

Because the layout uses javascript if the browser does not support it, the layout will run down the page.

I have posted a multi product template that centres the title and centers the price under the image instead of to the right. just copy it to your site1 flder and rename the extension type to html

                Thanks

Sorry yes I leave the top product as it was and just use the multi template as a bolt on product section below.

One thing - in your Act_ProductBody template, open it in notepad and change this:

                  <div align="right"><a name="sectiontop">

                  to this:

                  <div align="center"><a name="sectiontop">

That is for your crum trail, when i left it to align right it made the page look a little odd.

                  Thanks Again

It all seems so easy, but I must be doing something horribly wrong.
No matter how I try I can't get my products to live next to each other.

Thanks for your help Lee. I'll add to the end of this thread when I finally manage it.....and I WILL manage it!

Debbie - have you used smaller versions of your image files to fit inside the smaller columns?
