Products in Rows of Three Can They Have A Box?

    Hello All,

Could anyone give me an idea on how i can place the products laid out in three, in a seperate box in the same format that they are in i.e. Name|Image|Price|Add To Cart, but so that they all stay level with each other? I have seen the layout on other sites but now can't remember where!

    an example is here: http://www.hobuk.co.uk/acatalog/HW131.html

    Any help would be great

    Thanks again

    Lee,

Guess you will have to play around with the 'border=0' bit in the java script you are using, change the border value to '1' to get a broder around the products.

      I have done this

If you look at my new shop:

      http://www.miffyshop.co.uk/acatalog/index.html

I have these boxes all over the place.

If you section Section Header and then choose the layout tab, then in stead of Layout: Use Parent, select any of the others (I used Image and Title only) then click on edit.

The code the section layout is now displayed and you can see the border="0", which I changed to border ="2".

You will also need to add bordercolor="#ff000" (red),

and then you will need to move the NETQUOTEVARs around to make sure you have Text, Image, Description or whatever you require.

If you are feeling confident, and are editing in Macromedia Dreamweaver, you can change the table layout.

You then save this file: Act_SectionImage or similar.

Once saved, you use the same Layout selection for each section you wish to have boxes in. If you have followed me so far, this last bit is really easy.

      Hope this helps,

In your case the simplest solution is to resize your thumbnail images to the same height. You could do it with a batch graphic program like FastStone Photo Resizer 1.4 fro example.

Interesting design - how's it done?

            Hi,

I've just had a quick look at the design (website address in earlier post above) with the main product at the top and then 3 additional - you may also like products underneath.

Can you please advise how you achieved that?

            Thanks

You may have resized you thumbmails on the home page BUT you have not compressed them - they are huge at 100k each . Your page takes an age to download.

script for v7 - also how do you compress images???

                    Hi Norman,

You mentioned that the link refers to Act v6 - is there a way to do this in v7.

also the previous post states that the images needs compressing - I'm assuming that this for my site - because they do take ages - can anyone advise how I compress?

                    Thanks

                      Hello Linda,

Do you have Photoshop? If you do, all you need to do is save your images via - File - Save for Web and then size them. Jpeg is best for photographs and gif format is better for graphics.
