Site Export creates loads of unapparent errors.....

    Hi All,

This may be related to a thread posted earlier, but then again may not.

Having carried out a Site Export, "File > Site Snapshot > Export", and creating a *.acd file, I was presented with a detailed error log.

    An entry included the following:
    Code:
(File ExportFiles.cpp, Line 582) - The file \images\safecon\fireexits\S050211.gif was not found System error 3 - The system cannot find the path specified.
However when I checked this files existence in File Manager, it was there.
Also, in page preview, the image was displayed.

However as my earlier thread. My page preview is extremely slow all of a sudden?

    http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=20073

I fear that I have been infected by a VIRUS that has played havoc with my files...is this possible?

Seriously cacking myself here, how can I recover this if this is so.

    Help, Simon.

I'd first check if your normal browsing is OK. See if that is also slow. If neccessary you can check your browser with HyjackThis.
Run anti-spyware such as Lavasoft and Spybot and of course a virus scan with the latest definitions.

      OK, tried some stuff ...

Checked my last Offline Preview in IE, and as far as I can see things work OK, and everything is responsive as normal.

Ran my McAfee anti-virus (updated) and Spyware Doctor, (in fact I bought Spyware Doctor after running their checks and highlighted so many differences to McAfee and Symantec's on line checks). So at the minute i am infection free.

      OK, some more info.

I refreshed a link that had an error by linking to a new file in the same way.
      i.e. my file
      Code:
      \images\hazard\guarddogs_pic.gif
      was replaced by
      Code:
      \images\hazard\guarddogs_pic(postvirus).gif
and it worked, well at least it did not show in the error log.
      Error log before (extract):
      Code:
(File ExportFiles.cpp, Line 582) - The file \images\mandatory\feetprotect\M0602212.gif was not found System error 3 - The system cannot find the path specified.
      ..
(File ExportFiles.cpp, Line 582) - The file \images\hazard\guarddogs_pic.gif was not found System error 3 - The system cannot find the path specified.
      ..
(File ExportFiles.cpp, Line 582) - The file \images\safecon\shower_pic.gif was not found System error 3 - The system cannot find the path specified.
      Error log after (same extract):
      Code:
(File ExportFiles.cpp, Line 582) - The file \images\mandatory\feetprotect\M0602212.gif was not found System error 3 - The system cannot find the path specified.
      ..
(File ExportFiles.cpp, Line 582) - The file \images\safecon\shower_pic.gif was not found System error 3 - The system cannot find the path specified.
It is no longer an error.

If I have to I will proceed to refresh the links, but is this the reason why my preview in Actinic is so slow... is it looking for deadlinks...... why does the file show if the link is dead ?

      Any ideas?
      ----------------------

Just as I though I may be OK ...... I get this report after runing the Site Export, with another file refresh ....

      Code:
      FATAL ERRORS
(File SnapshotWizard.cpp, Line 816) - Archive error 5 - The compression operation failed
Library error - Can not open file C:\Program Files\Actinic v7\Sites\Site1\ActinicCatalog.mdb ! has been caught.
      Errors
What does "has been caught" mean ????

        Simon,

I would suggest compacting the Databases and then trying the refresh or site export. 'ActinicCatalog.mdb ! has been caught' means that this operation was done while the Database was open or being used by another application.

        Kind regards,
