Hi All,
I am setting up paints now on my site and was chugging away going great and then I realised a massive error which I now need help with please.
I have over 180 different colours/types of paiunt so needed to do this the easiest way. Each colour comes in 3 different sizes of bottle so this is what i did whic seemed to be the easiest way:
Made a product called White
Attached a Component to this product calling it Customer Choice
Attached an Attribute to this with 3 choices of size of bottle
Back in Component left the schedule prices at £00 and set the Permutations Valid, Override, Price (for each size)
Now this worked perfectly. Used Push Button as my choice for the client to select from the 3 available sizes and prices.
The problem arose when I realised that there is a big difference in price on shipping between the bottle weights. Obviously, this is one single product so I tried this:
Set up 3 more products tro link to through the Permutations and named them; 120ml Bottle, 480ml Bottle & 960ml Bottle. I put the appropriate weight for each bottle in each individual product and to be sure, I even added the correct price for each size. I was now hoping that I can simply copy paste all my colours and change the names but link them via the Permutations to these hidden products, which have the correct weights added.
I then went back to my original 'White' product, opened the Permutations, left the pricing as Override and in the Product list I selected the new products now for each size and linked them in the Product tab. All seem fine, seems like a good idea I thought?
Uploaded and tested but, when I added the different sizes to my basket they were absent of any price?
I went back to the Permutations, components are set to £0, Override pricing seems fine . . so I set the Pricing tab to 'Associated Product Prices' thinking that would of course do the trick. But no? Still no actual price in the cart next to the item?
Has anyone got any ideas what I may have done wrong? Or is there an easier way to do this as it's taking a while!
Thank you . .
Beej
