    Checkout bombing out?

Had the odd report from customers that the final page of the checkout has bombed out on them as they try and place an order (seemingly the standard internet explorer page comes up). Have done all the tests I can think of and can find no issue with it at all and we have plenty of orders coming through on a daily basis.

So, is it an issue with their computers or our server? Would appreciate it if anyone has any time to place some test orders and see if they can come up with anything. The site is www.sportswarehouse.co.uk.

Any other thoughts or suggestions for the site greatly appreciated too!

    Cheers

As soon as moved into the cart area on the secure server it took about 3 minutes for half the images to download at stage 1 of 4 ... hitting "next" just froze the page solid. That was using FF.

Thanks Jont, It's very strange as I haven't been able to reproduce the problem on 4 different computers. Might have to fire off a support request to my host.

If anyone else gets a chance to have a look then it would help.

      Thanks again!

        Hi Dave,

I took a look last night and it was strange, even browsing around the website it completely froze at one point and I gave up and had to close the browser to get away from it. This is on IE.

I suspect there's something running on the server that's overloading it for long periods at a time.

          Mike,

The memory on the server is pretty tight so it could be that, not got a huge amount of experience on dedicated servers and we have only been running this one for 3 weeks so it could be some sort of teething problem.

Lets hope my hosts have got the answer!

          Cheers

Seems it was a connections issue and our hosts have upped the number of connections. If anyone has any time could you have a nose around and see if you have any further problems?

            Cheers

had a good nose around and no sign of any problems this time.

By the way, I see you have a 'best selling' list. Is this the smart decisions plug-in or did you develop it yourself? I only ask because it did raise the question of whether the problem might be delays in the mysql server.

              I like the site.

Nah the Best Selling list is good old static html, managed through an include in the main templates. There is no dynamic parts to the site at all!

                Glad you like the site.
