Integrating Ebay 'buy it now' to Actinic Digital Download

    Hi

    . . . using Actinic Business 7.05

I would like to be able to offer digital files through Ebay on a 'Buy it Now' with immediate payment through Paypal . . . but integrate this with Actinic's Digital Download system to manage the downloads etc.

    Anyone tried anything like this?

I would be grateful for any thoughts or ideas anyone might have.

    thanks for your time

Why bring EBay into the loop - just add Paypal as a payment option on the site.

Because Ebay is a huge market . . . and it reaches some of the parts that my website doesn't reach! Just as Amazon, Abe, etc. each reach different sectors . . . but we digress

Sorry, I understood from the first post you wanted to link to the item on ebay from your site so that people could buy with Paypal, and that seemed a strange request.

I now understand that you want the ebay purchase process to redirect a completed Paypal purchaser to your site for download, or some other method of achieving the same result.

Would a domain email autoresponder triggered by ebay item ID work? Or do you have an email address that is only used for completed ebay purchases that could have an autoresponse set up with the file link?

An email with a link has no security . . . I need to link direct to the digital download modules within Actinic.

Does this help you see the direction to go http://knowledge.actinic.com/cgi-bin....com/acatalog/

              Nope!

I need to link the purchase to the DD module so that downloading is controlled by Actinic and its security features.

Then you need a product path made up of your domain passing through the cgi-bin and making a call through nph-dl0000x.pl (where x is your script number) with a reference to the file identity.

Easiest way to get the right information is probably to do a dummy purchase on your website and copy the insecure email link that actinic sends you.

Is there anyone out there who has direct experience of linking to the digital download module from an external source? If so, I would be grateful for your comments etc.

                    Hi,

I suggest you to go through Page 46 of "Advanced User Guide" which discusses about "Adding to Cart from Anywhere on the Internet". Obviously this works only for products where components, attributes, date or other info prompts are not used. You can find similar discussion on http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=1905

I'm not looking to add to cart. From Ebay it will already be paid for via Paypal . . . I was hoping to use Actinic to simply manage the downloads.

Looks like I am going to be buying more software

                        Hi Tony,

I'm afraid that it is not possible to use Actinic to simply manage the downloads.
