    File Organisation

I use Actinic mainly for the back end of my website and have heavily customised the front end using Dreamweaver.

The problem I have is the time taken switching between Actinic and Dreamweaver. Because Actinic requires all the html files, jpgs, gifs etc to be in one folder 'Site 1', (instead of allowing me to organise these files) every time I minimise Dreamweaver then maximise it again it takes on average 3 mins.

My website contains approx 3000/4000 products and images so I understand why Dreamweaver is having such a problem.

Is there any way for this to run smoother and faster, am I missing a trick. I can't believe people just tolerate this.

I'm using a HP compaq, with 504mb RAM. Is this far to low a spec?

    Cheers
    Mike

You can keep product images in subfolders of the site 1 ... template images are best kept in the root of the site 1.

504mb ram is an odd number - sounds like the video card is sharing some of it which may account for some of the refresh time. Upping to 1gb of RAM would aid things no end (especially if multi tasking) and for very little expense
