Link to Quickbooks -- sale not service

    Hi

Last year we linked Actinic and QB but each sale that QB imported displayed as a "service". We couldn't alter it to a "sale" or delete it at all (there was no opportunity to change anything), so it messed our books up a bit. We ulinked and hung our heads. We're now ready to try again (after attempting to use Sage and getting too confused with it!)...

Can anyone suggest how our customer sales actually go onto QB from Actinic as sales, not as a service? I'd like to know before we attempt this again, so we get it right and so our books don't get messed up again.

    Thanks in advance

    Love

    Val

Do you have enable sales orders in your company preferences turned on? Or is it that the orders import OK but then produces a shocking list of "service" item types in your item list (which on the sales receipt looks OK, but doesn't actually relate to or adjust your stock?).

It is working OK for me so I am sure you can do it. I don,t use sales orders by the way. Link just makes a sales receipt. The items are created as sales items. I use the option not to let link create any new items, I always manually match them.

Hi Old Has Been (bet you haven't!)

Er, the lady who looks after this can't see "company preferences" or "enable sales" - (I'm not worried now at all!). She looked in "my preferences" but there was nothing there. Where exactly is this?

            Hi Chris

Our lady who does that side of things just didn't get on with Sage at all when she went to night classes to learn it. I think it's because she's used QB for a few years and felt comfortable with it...

Yes it is one of those programs you either hate or just manage, never loved

One thing going for sage though is its accepted my most if not all accountancy firms and has room for expansion when things go well plus lots of book-keepers who can use it and most epos systems and simular add-ons are set up to accept it, so can have benifits latter on in a companies growth

QB although highly praised by some and significatly cheaper, you may find it harder to get someone with experience in the future or at least limit your choice

Oh, it seems that the reason it won't work for us is that we have QB *basic*! Oh, how I love accounts software. As Actinic currently won't link with the new QB6 (grrrr!), we've found someone who'll sell us a QB5 Pro version that will link and we will then hopefully be able to link them together. Great, as we have to pay the same for an old version of QB as we would for QB6, if only that would link with Actinic. Why do I feel like I've spent the past year chasing my tale...?

                  Love to all who helped

It would be nice to have an update on whether Actinic intend to provide a link to QB pro V6.

                        Hi,

Actinic Link for Quick Books does work with QB pro v6. If you have issues I would suggest raising a support ticket so that someone can check teh import file you are having problems with.

                        Kind regards,

For me, I was afraid the new version would NOT work and didn't want to move on UNLESS the QB interface would work, Thanks for the update,
