    QB 2006 and Actinic

    Hi guys

We're having to alter the way we work as our business has grown so much in the past year (yes, thanks to our Actinic driven site!!).

We want to do the following, and I'm just running it by you to make sure we've got it all logical before we attempt it.

We intend to install Actinic (Business v7), Link and QB 2003 on a server. We'll then network all office PCs up to that server. Then each member of staff can access these 2 programs from their PCs to make changes or download information from that one central place.

Does this make sense, rather than having the programs installed on several computers and there being problems with synching? Has anyone done this, and is there anything we need to look out for?

And finally, we spoke to QB about upgrading to 2006, and they said that QB 2006 so far hasn't been adpoted by Actinic, and Actinic has to purchase some kind of file from then for a few hundred pounds before it's compatible. Does anyone know if this is going to happen? We can only get a QB multiuser license for version 2006, as they don't exist for 2003, but we don't want to upgrade if we can't use Actinic Link with the new version...

I hope this all makes sense!

    Love

    Val

You can't import data while in multiuser mode in QB. It is a real pain to keep asking every one to log off while you import the latest batch of orders in single user mode then go back to mulituser again.

very anoying if some one had left their desk half way through something and you dont know if you should save their work or not.

      Hi,

In regards to managing Actinic on a server, you would need the Multiuser version of the software and below is the thread regarding the integration of the latest version of QB with Actinic...
