Section list table just a tad out...width wise.

    Hi Guys

I have used a clean template and over layed my design on top. The problem I have is that the table to the left is too wide.

In the appropriate sections I have set the padding to 0, checked the actwidth, etc...any advice on how to square this off, it is throwing the design out of whack .

this is what it should look like

    Many thanks
    Daren

Have you tried removing the alignments from the TD:
    <TD ALIGN="LEFT" VALIGN="TOP">
to see if it's related to that?

      Hi Duncan

Thanks for the swift reply, yup, removed the alignment source and it is still the same, driving me nuts, this is BEFORE I add all the NETQ...back to the main column (which by the way when I do sends it well out of shape ie.width about 700px...)

      I will keep on searching

      Thanks again

        Hi guys

this is driving me nuts. To update, this is what Ihave done thus far...

1 using clean layout 13 I have maintained ALL ACTQUOTES and NETVARS etc.
        2 Input header
3 amended sidebar layout file (to use roll overs)
4 removed the cellspace (default 10)
5 fixed the width of the left menu bar to 153px (same as image)

and still is shows spaces and is too big, I am trying to acheive the layout demonstrated in my example above, ie, the menu buttons sit flush to each other. If this fails the effect is wasted.

Any further suggestions would be helpful.

        Many Thanks

Can you attach your template so we can have a look at what you have.

            Hi

I have attached the two files,

target is what I am trying to acheive and can be viewed working in post #1
primary is the store page as it currently is. The left column as you can see is way off.

            Many Thanks

I've just had a quick fiddle with your layout (just used some of your gif's stretched to fit) and it seems ok. Odd. See attched.

Will have another look when I have more time.

EDIT: OOPS - I've just been using your target file!!
Sorry - will look again later.

                No worries...

I am geting closer to the truth on this one (I think)

I removed all the cell padding from the relevant HTML and the table did close up BUT all that remains to be found is why the image of the button sits in the centre with a 2px padding. No evident HTML anywhere so I shall did deeper into the code.

Just out of curiosity is there a way of setting the cell to change colour whilst having the cat display as text in this table as opposed to hard coding it all individually?

                Regards

                  Daren,

Check the attached file, its is your primary one. Let me know if it helped or if I was way off, if the latter can you give us a bit more on what you are trying to achieve.

                  Kind regards,

                    Hi Bruce,

thanks for the reply, but no joy alas.

What I am trying to get at can be viewed here =>>TARGET

Pay particular attention to the left hand sidebar, see how the nav buttons are sitting flush, gaining the desired effect.

What I have arrived at now is here=>> CURRENT

Once again, looking at the left hand menu, you will see a 'shift' in the padding. They sit in the middle with about a 2px surround. I have stripped ALL the cell padding out, but they still remain...got me confused.

                    Thanks for any input
                    Regards

                        Hi Bruce

Thanks for that, it worked well for the spaces to the left and right, but I am now left with space above the buttons, is this also in the DESIGN/TEXT area? cannot seem to find the tag

                        Cheers again...

Did you remove the entire bit as described in the other thread? Thats the <Table> to </Table>.

                          Kind regards,
