    Product Choice Stock Levels (Again!)

V7.0.5 user...Have many products set up using the Product|Component|Attribute|Choice hierarchy as fully explained in other posts.

Stock monitoring enabled on the hidden products but not on "base" or "main" product....Component permutations linked to hidden product...Pricing model "Sum of Products and Component Prices" on base product...

Hidden products linked to external file and external file loads these stock related fields: Maximum Quantity (we set same as stock on hand), and Estimated Stock In Hand.

For ALL hidden, stock monitored products: "Warn if Below" set at 0..."Suspend Orders if Below" set at 1.

PROBLEM: Choices that are out of stock cannot be ordered and Add to Cart function returns the proper "choice out of stock" message. But, it will let a shopper choose, say, 3 of another choice within that product when there are only 2 in stock! And then we get paid orders for out of stock items!

Have run tests making sure site is updated with proper stock levels. Please someone help as we have an Adwords campaign running and traffic/orders have picked up substantially!

unfortunately, this is a known bug, Peter.
No solution that is feasible, I have exactly the same problem with over-oirdering of limited stock items like this (although not, as you say, out of stock items)
I'm just hoping Actinic see it is a big enough bug to fix promptly (although I have been complaining about it for months and months so I guess not!)
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!
Chris did suggest a workaround but it's not a good one, I'm afraid.
Will try to find the post in case it's worthwhile for you.

from here onwards in this thread but, like I said, it's not a particularly good solution.

Thank you for the reply Tracey...And thank you for pointing me to the thread that already had it covered in detail - I had missed that thread when searching the board for an answer.

So this is a known bug. I am another one that sure hopes we get a fix soon. We also run low inventories and if we have to increase the "Max Orderable" to get a workaround that means LOST SALES. I link to an external Excel sheet that I update 2-3 times a day because we have sales of our online items also occurring through other channels and keep our master inventory in the QuickBooks Point of Sale program...

Really hoping for a good solution as this one keeps me up at night and requires a lot of customer "recovery" - not a good thing in this competitive world...

        Hi Peter,

This was already added in to Actinic Wishlist and I've added a vote on your behalf.
        Cheers,
