Postage Costs not adding up

The postage matrix is in Menu: View / Business Settings / Shipping and Handling. Its the grid in the middle on the right hand side.

Thanks for your reply & i'm sorry to sound daft at any point, but i am still on a big learning curve with this software...

Under shipping bands? Is it the section that has the boxes for cost & order value?

Could anybody explain what i would need to change exactly to make it all work correctly.

Also, as i i suppose it's along the same lines, does anybody know of a download that has the import files for the latest shipping charges? I do recall seeing one for Royal Mail & i think Fedex on here somewhere, but i cant find it at all now.

Almost. If it says 'order value', then you have selected shipping by total order value (I think thats the default setting). If you want to do shipping by weight, you have to select is on the left hand side where it says:
Calculation Basis
- Simple
- Total quantity
- Total value (this is currently selected)
- Total weight (<-- change to this)

Then the grid will say:
Weight in kgs | Cost

Mine looks like this (first class shipping band selected)


If in doubt, try pressing the help button on the Shipping and Handling dialog.
