    Import subsections via csv

    Hi Guys

searched for the resolution without success.

I am trying to import SUB-SECTIONS into my catalogue but always get the below results (csv file via excel)

1 it creates the main section IE MAIN SECTION1 and the sub cats go in but with a special character (square inserted )

2 It creates all my SUB CATS as main cats?

What am I doing wrong? Do I specify the MAIN CAT and sub cat in the same or subsequent columns in the sheet prior to export in excel?

All I can do so farm is create all the sub cats as main and drag them into the correct section. There bust be a correct/easier way?

    Regards

Try creating a couple of sections and subsections manually first, then export them. In Excel you will then see the required format. You can then add your new sections etc. in the same format and import again. Make sure you back up before importing.

      Hi,

If you are importing a flat file the format to bring in subsections would be to seperate the names with a '|' symbol on the first column under 'Section Text'. For example... Section|Sub-section.

Sample Flat import files can be found under \Program Files\Actinic v7\Sites\Site1\Common and the file in specific would be SampleFlatImportFile.csv and you could use this file and populate it with your own data.

      Regards,
      Robert.
