How come when you make a change to the original part information such as the description the duplicate parts do not update with the new information? or do you have to do something so that it does?

Some fields are locked to the Original and some are changeable.
This is the expected and desired behaviour. E.g. The Price, Attributes and Choices are fixed but the Short and Long Descriptions are changeable.
You might want a main product with a lengthy name and description but have a Duplicate in another page with a more concise name and layout.
The general rule is that fields that affect the product's important details are fixed and ones that are purely descriptive are alterable.
Custom Properties are a bit in flux. They used to be alterable between the Original and Duplicates, became fixed at 7.0.5 and you can choose which behaviour you want at 7.0.6 (there's a new checkbox in Advanced / Custom Properties).Norman - www.drillpine.biz
