suggest other products

Hi All

I have a client who wants to suggest other items when a user goes to the check out. She wants that as you go the check out it says, 'if you purchased this products these products below may be of interest to you'. For exmaple if the user purchases a toy do they need to buy batteries?

Is there a universal way of doing this, or do you have add the option to each item on the website individually. The reason I ask this is because most of the items on the site need batteries, so it would be easier if there was a way of doing it universally.

A simple solution I adopt in the Act_PrimaryCheckout.html is to strip down the standard right-hand column from the rest of the site and place in links and images to favourite upsell items
