How can I hide the Discount Coupon code via URL?

I want to promote our website and encourage people to access our site direct, rather than going through a search engine and I think that a discount coupon built into a url link in a promotional email would help.

However I would like to hide the Coupon code, so that people can't see it and use it in the wrong way or share it with others.

At the moment you can see the code at the end of the link, such as:

    http://www.dummy-run.com/cgi-bin/rs0...OUPON=doepI6pr

Is there any way of hiding at least that bit that says "COUPON=abcd123" ?

    A few possibillities:
    1. Use tinyURL
    2. Change the text you want to 'hide' to ascii code ie abcd123 would become %61%62%63%64%31%32%33
    3. Try Karen Kenworthy's disconbobulator:

    to shroud the URL
