First time upload Catalog 500 unknown command

We have a new website with webfusion, tried first upload. Unable to upload due to the fiollowing error:

An error occured while checking the FTP transfer mode -- 500 Unknown command.
Try using the other mode.

Any ideas on what this means?

Try selecting Passive Mode in the network settings.

Thanks, Duncan, but I have ticked both passive and enhanced FTP settings. I have also tried unticking them, one at a time, still the same

A few more questions rather than answers:

Can you manually ftp to the server?
Have you checked the folder permissions?
Does the Network Test pass OK?

Yes, I can transfer files using FTP program (not Actinic)

Sorry, Duncan, I meant the error message outlined occurs when I try to test the network settings, so I assume I can't upload the catalog (this has not been uploaded yet, and I assume the catalog cannot be uploaded manually (outside the ftp upload program)?

Best would be to post your network settings (without passwords of course) and hopefully someone can compare yours with theirs - I'm sure others are using webfusion as well.

All my sites are on webfusion - they have recently changed the whole structure of the hosting and it is messing up Actinic network configuration.

The wizard used to work great but now you need to manually configure the network settings.

Please remoce/replace the txt file you have posted as it contains a password..

this line is definately wrong (no co.uk)

I'm not sure about this line
SMTPHOST 127.0.0.1 this points to your local machine

also no / in front of PATHTOCGIBIN cgi-bin/

there may be more errors but i am not familiar with webfusion

I have amended my network settings, following the info on your screenshot, Malcolm but it still comes up with this error when I test the network settings

For one of our other sites, I use the www.domain.co.uk as the server host - but it won't accept this setting for this site

I have emailed webfusion yesterday with this error, but no response so far

I have attached the network settings

I have removed the attachment because it is contained the login details to your server. As the file was already downloaded 11 times I would suggest to change your ftp password.
