    Shocking Message

    Howdy,

    just been doing a test of my network settings and the cp00001.pl file was copied to my website cgi-bin. Being the nosey sort I though I would open it up and see what was in it.

    Does anyone else have this content when they view they file in notepad?

    y ($bVersionState, $sMessage) =
    CheckPerlVersion();
    my $bCyberSitter = $GOOD;
    my $nSum = unpack('%32C*', "sexy ");
    if ($nSum != 914)
    {
    $bCyberSitter = $BAD;
    $sMessage .= "It appears as if CyberSitter or some other network filter is mangling the CGI scripts.\r\n";
    }

          I've sent the tech support at Actinic an email to try and clarify this one. I'm lucky in that I'm publishing on an Intranet for student use only but for commercial users then this isn't good.

            CheckPerlVersion.pl seems to hold the answer:-

            # The following line contains text that would usually be detected by network filters
            # The use of 'bad language' is necessary here to trigger the filter

              Searching the net it appears this is a way of checking if Cybersitter is messing with the code.

              Wonder if there's anything juicy in other scripts...

                You seem to have missed the comment which is as follows:

                #
                # The following line contains text that would usually be detected by network filters
                # The use of 'bad language' is necessary here to trigger the filter
                #
