When you say secure URL, do you have an SSL certificate for your domani, i.e. so that it will operate under https://yourdomain.com etc...

Also, if using SSL did you enable this in the View | Business Settings | Payment & Security tab at the bottom of that page is SSL ON, but this assumes you have ssl bound to your domain.

Who are you hosting with and maybe someone is on here that has used them and will know the settings

      my host is fasthosts
ive already enabled the ssl in the business settings, and i am attempting to use the https://vault2.secured-url.com/mydomain/
      is this correct?

        Fasthosts

Hi give them a call and they will happily step you through the process. There is also a setup procedure within the support section on fasthosts website.

Sorry just another thought. Actinic seems to only work on a Linux Operating system. I had the same trouble at the start. It’s cheap to change the system but I still recommend giving them a call to confirm this and the process.

          Many thanks

Actinic will work on Windows servers, it is just more difficult to get working on some hosts, for which from what can tell, FastHost users are better off using the Linux offering than a Windows one, unless they need the abilities only provided on the Windows platforms.

              thanks guys,
i had a rummage around on fasthosts support the other day, and found the setup recommended for actinic/fasthosts users which was very useful, i just got stuck on the url command during upload.
linux is setup already so at least i got something right...
              i'll give fasthosts a call...
              many thanks

                Cheers

Have you tried an upload with out the SSL?

ie turn off SSL in the payment tab (business settings)

try this and post your network settings. It may be the SSL is complicating things at present

fasthosts suggested changing the path to perl shell to
                      #!/usr/bin/perl , still no joy...

tried disabling ssl within business settings, but im unsure of my non-ssl settings so put it back again...

You really need to take SSL out of theequation until you get a "normal" upload working. After all nothing will work until you get the base upload working.

Please compare your settings to the correct settings given for Fasthosts in post 10 of the following thread

                          http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=15549

The recent suggestions you have had from Fasthosts show that they don't actually know the correct answer and are throwing out wild suggestions which aren't actually helping you......

I am hosting with fasthosts so I know it can work. I have copied down my settings within network setup for you to try... Hope it helps.
