    Customer and buyer accounts

    We have a retail site selling direct to customers. When we set up an account for a customer we have to enter "account" details and then "buyer" details. When the customer logs in they see their "account" and "buyer" names at the on each page of the site.

    This set up is presumably configured for business to business sales where one account may have several buyers. For retail sales it doesnt look or feel right.

    Is there a way of changing the settings so that each customer simply has an account and there is no need for "buyers" within that account?

    Thanks.

    Hi there,

    In Actinic, it is not possible to create a customer account without the buyer information as that decides the username and password for that customer account.

    May be you could remove the 'Account details' from being displayed to the logged in customers on your website.

    In order to do that, please edit Default Brochure Overall Layout Template (usually Act_BrochurePrimary.html) and Default Overall Layout Template (usually Act_Primary.html) and search for

    <Actinic:NOWSERVING/>

    and replace with

    <!--<Actinic:NOWSERVING/> -->

    Save the template and upload your site to check the results.

    Hope this helps.
    Cheers,

      Thanks Suresh.

      I use a number of templates so rather than editing all of them I deleted the entry in Design Text | Customer Accounts | ID 213.

      It was "%sAccount: %s | %s" and now it is blank.

      This seems to work but will there be any side effects that I have not considered?

      Thanks

        Trevor,

        That should not be an issue as far as side effects, as this is only a display factor.
