Telephone Orders
I have just put a lengthy post on the eCommerce issues but wanted to pick up on two points here.
The first is that we used to process customer telephone orders over the web (as if we were the customer) but had to stop when the verification check was introduced. You really can't ask a customer for their passwords.
The second is that this is only necessary because we can't process telephone orders efficiently. We use HSBC. I have to cut and paste all the information from Actinic to the HSBC POS terminal. This is really stupid as it wastes time and introduces errors.
HSBC have the facility to squirt offline orders - but there is some tricky coding required in Java - with which I am not confident enought to use for this application.
Is there anyone who would be interested isn sharing some costs to get this done?
Regards
