Problem with Find Ordered Products facility

I've got a few products which when searched for using the 'Find ordered products' feature they cannot be found (list is empty).
I know they exist but need to find them without going through each order manually (very time consuming).
I've tried searching with reference numbers and/or descriptions without any success.

Anyone else found this problem? Got any solutions I can try??

Sorry if this is horrendously obvious, but are you absolutely certain that the products you are looking for have, in fact, been ordered?
