Hi
I have a site with a shared ssl server which i am trying to configure on plesk.
currently I have the site setup so the domains are as follows
http://mysite.secureserveruk.com
https://mysite.secureserveruk.com
this all works fine and when going to the cart it goes to the secure domain and all the contents of my cart are there as I would expect.
What i really want to do is have
http://mysite.com
https://mysite.secureserveruk.com
but when i try and do this irun into all sorts of problems.
http://mysite.com
has its own ftp account, cgi-bin and acatalog directory and when i use these details in the network setup it all uploads but when i go to browse the shop, as soon as i add stuff to my cart and go to the check out, the check out appears empty.
I have tried to configure using the configure website details wizard but it seems to suggest that because the ssl cgi bin needs to access the normal server acatalog directory the site won't setup correctly because the permissions on the directories are wrong.
I have been using the SSL and HTTP on the same server settings with different CGI bin and different FTP settings both selected.
what am I doing wrong? I have tried the SSL and HTTP on different servers setting and this seems to run into problems aswell
I have read about adding a symlink, is doing this the answer? I can see how you could convince actinic that the files are in one directory that then links through to another could be the answer but could do with a few pointers if what i am trying to do is possible and if so which way of configuring actinic is going to work right for me?
thanks in advance for any help
J
