    Froogle Issues

I've got my new site live and wanted to add a froogle feed. I ran the froogle export from actinic and uploaded it and google came back with a couple of errors.

Error 1: It rejected a handful of URLs saying that they were invalid and then gave the address as "http://%22http://(relavanturl)%22". These feeds all looked fine in the text file when I questioned google on it all they replied to me was....

Error 2: The feed was said to be critical and not approved because all my prices were fed as ex-VAT.

Having a few URLs that are buggy and don't work I can live with, but wish I knew why but the real issue is not having them fed with the VAT prices. I don't want to have to go through my whole shop and list prices inc VAT and have to change the VAT level to 0% in the options, after all the reverse VAT calculations I've done it seems like a soul destroying prospect.

Is there any way to get it to feed with VAT? I don't want to have to fork out any more money on software to be able to do it. I work for a small shop and the price of actinic and the shared SSL is already way more then the business can afford until online trade picks up.

Any help would be massively appreciated.

You can open the TXT feed into Excel (or open office if you dont have Excel) and copy the ex-vat prices to a temp column and then simply mulitply the ex-vat prices by 1.175 (if in the UK) to create the inc VAT prices. Copy the inc vat column and paste over the original column setting paste special to "values" .. or similar wording. Delete the temp columns and save

You need to upgrade to 7.0.6 to get access to the European format feed from froogle, this version includes an option to add VAT automatically.

The other option is to use one of the froogle plugins that are available, we have one, you can find more details and a free trial at this URL :

      http://www.actinicplugins.co.uk/acat...r_Actinic.html

If you use my feed, make sure that you log into froogle and set the 'quoted fields' option on the feed settings, if you upgrade Actinic you will not need to do this.

I think that Bill from Eqyptian Wonders has a free froogle feed as well, so that might be a good option for you if you are on a tight budget.

I presume you are using verion 7.05 or earlier. In these versions you will need to open the feed file produced by Actinic and delete the top two lines. Also make sure you have your Froogle account set up to have 'yes' to quoted fields.

%22 is an ascii code for the quotation mark

Thanks for all your help... I've upgraded actinic now. Didn;t realise there was an update patch, I had been avoiding it thinking you had to reinstall from fresh and was a bit worried about all that.

It seems to have solved all my problems, I have a feeling the http error was in all of the entries, but google only listed a few as an example. All's well that ends well, thanks again!
