Standalone PC - warftp settings memory

    Hi Guys

Set up a developer machine with Apache, perl and warftp (d/l ver warftpd-1.82-00-RC10-i386) all working well.

However, when I switch the machine off (as opposed to the server), ALL my server setting insertions into warftp (username, files, permissions etc) get dropped meaning I have to re-enter every time I switch on the machine?

Any ideas where I have gone wrong, searched high and low? warftp is running in service mode btw.

Any guidance would be appreciated if you have experienced this or know what is occurring.

    Many Thanks

    Daren,

Take a look at "Appendix A: Installing a Standalone Demo on a PC" which is available on the Advanced Users Guide, which you can download here.

    Kind regards,

      Hi Bruce

Cheers for the reply, but alas, that is what I used.

All is set up and works fine, it is just when I switch the machine off, all the settings mentioned in the AUG that I inputted get dropped and it is back to the state it was when I installed it.

      Very annoying and confusing.

You could try backing up the server config files as per:
        http://www.warftp.org/faq/warfaq.html#AEN268
or/and posting a question on the newsgroup here:

          Yup, done all that Duncan.

Going to retry later when time allows and let you know the outcome.

Cheers for the link to the newsgroup.
