    different domain for checkout

    Hi,

Does anyone know if it is possible to use a different domain for checkout?

    something like:

    catalog: www.anything-goes.co.uk
    checkout: secure.anything-goes.co.uk

    thanks,
    Paul.

If your www and secure is all on the same server and in effect showing the same files from the same ftp storage space, then should not be an issue at all...

The problems come when you have the http stuff on one server and the https stuff on another server (or different ftp storage areas), which then gets funny with the settings and also with uploading the files in many cases (see posts on FastHosts with SSL shared settings for examples of the issues that can be experienced in that scenario).

      Hi,

For testing purposes, I have configured a new sub domain (secure.anything-goes.co.uk). It appears that the ftp is indeed in a seperate bin. Does this mean it is impossible to do like I want?

I updated the settings in SSL/network to test, however, after uploading, I note that there is nothing in that subdomain except for the cgi-bin which has been populated.

Is this the sort of problem you mean that is caused by using a subdomain? I did a search for SSL fasthosts, but I couldnt work out what everyone is talking about as I am not with them (vaults etc?!).

I did notice something about symlinks, which apparently I can do, but I do not know what they are.

      Any ideas?

      Thanks,
      Paul.
