Reduce From 1024 To 800 Pixels

At present I have made my site www.british-outdoors.com look OK on my screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels

It does not look to good on a screen res of 800 x600

How do I go about changing it to display better at other resolutions below 1024 x 768

From a design point of view I do everything I can in a width of 740 and forget about the height. People by and large don't mind scrolling vertically- the abide scrolling horizontally though IMO.

Normally when you define a table you give it a width. This can either be absolute or relative.

An absolute table size would be a fixed number of pixels ie600 pixels or 740 pixels etc. A relative would be a fixed percentage , 100% or 80% etc.

The advantage of relative is that it changes size dependant on the screen width. Thus if you have table width 100% it will always fit the screen when the screen is maximised.

Thanks I understand what you are saying about % instead of a fixed width, But where do I find Table width in Actinic as at present I am just using one of the supplied templates

It sounds like you need to get yourself a quick course in HTML. There are plenty of resources on the web - try doing a search on Google.

Armed with a little knowledge of HTML, you then need to edit the relevant templates that Actinic uses to build the shop pages. The main template file to look at is called Act_Primary.html which you will find in your "Site1" folder - or you can locate it using the Template Manager under "Advanced" in Actinic.

You could try editing the templates with a tool like Frontpage or Dreamweaver - but I would not recommend this if you are not sure what you are doing.

I always recommend using a text editor like Notepad to modify the Actinic templates, but you need some knowledge of HTML.

There are plenty of web designers in this forum who are well versed in the use of the Actinic templates. Perhaps you would be better off employing the services of one of these?

Rezise your banner as it it too big at 800 x 600 the rest should fall into place

The simple ones are always the best. Ill have a look at the templates but in the meantime will reduce the logo.
