Different header on section & product pages

Hi. 1st post here so go gentle!

I want to put a different header on my section page to the one I want on my product pages.

Basically, "Click to enter" on section pages and "Scroll down to see all products" on product pages (or things to that effect).

Hi Joe, welcome to the forum.

Do you mean a header to appear above the list of products and sections (beneath the corporate logo / nav bar etc) ?

There are a couple of ways to do this - the simplest is to insert a fragment and enter the text there. If you want to insert an image for the header you can insert standard HTML code between !!< and >!! in the text area eg:

!!<<img src="header.jpg" alt="click to enter" />>!!

If you want to make the image clickable simply use the standard HTML <a> tag with the link to the desired page.

The other option is to use a CUSTOMVAR in the Act_Primary.html and Act_BrochurePrimary.html ... this would allow you to set the info at a global level under Business Settings or at each section level to provide a more focussed image or text to each specific section. This option can be used ofr inserting different images and text etc anywhere on the page - even the main mast head / corporate logo area

Thanks for the help - been in Paris for a week so not had chance to check this out yet.

I only want to create a simple text header in the same place as it would go if I used the Design/Options/ShopDefaults tab. However, this is a rather blunt instrument - I want to have different headers for my section and product pages.

Section pages header: Click to enter

Product pages: Scroll down to see all products

This seems like obvious advice but if I had a penny for every phone call I've had saying "do you only have 1 product...etc?"

You can use any number of different fragments all with different links, text, images etc. You could create fragments in the sections and place them at the top, above your products.
