Music Downloads

Our company has the developer edition and needs to find a way to offer full ablum downloads as well as the facility to download individual tracks. Wewish to avoid adding each item as either an album or individual track seperately. Could anyone advise us if it is possible to for customers to select items individually from one catalogue product? Hope this makes sense!

Hi Kevin,

you could create a section/sub section for the album and then list each of the tracks beneath and have a single add to cart button at the bottom of the page - that would allow users to add in the tracks they want without you replicating the album/individual tracks

Was hoping to avoid that approach and was really anticiopating that I could acheive our needs by using the component method as each track is, in effect, a component of the album.

You can do it your way as you suggest - simply associate the track with its own component and set to "is optional" to provided a tick box against the items the user requires. You will need to set the track to hidden if you dont want it appearing as a stand alone product

Have not tried associating Digital Downloads in this way though so may be woirth undertaking a trial run to ensure they are all listed in the receipt OK
