Some help needed, probably easy !

Hi there folks, first post on these forums, hopefully the first of many.

Ok this is more than likely a problem with a very simply solution. Our hosting company and web-designer believe it or not is giving me no help, and the site was supposed to be going live today, and is advertised as such.

The site is currently sitting at www.acesandeights.ie/Testing/acatalog/ and all I want to do is change from the test site to the root site at www.acesandeights.ie .

I dont really want to go messing with settings that im unsure of, but as far as i can see all i need to do is go to

    Advanced-Network Setup

Now when im in the window, is it just a matter of removing all the testing references, in the Catalogue URL and CGI-BIN path and then uploading is sufficient ? Or will that mess anything up.

Thanks in advance, i can post a screen-shot if you like.

    Hi Liam,

welcome to the forum. By default Actinic lumps everything into the /actalog/ folder on the server so if you remove the testing part from any paths and also check the path back to the cgi-bin, perl files etc is correct then should be OK.

To be safe if you want to post your settings - remove the username and password first - and advise on the host someone should be able to provide the correct settings if you are unsure

Looks like just removing the "testing" part from the settings will be fine (assuming it is working correctly at the moment)

Urggggg, this has been a very fustrating day, i removed all the testing references in both the standard and SSL tabs, now the thing wont upload at all, when i click the update button, nothing seems to happen, although the client seems to be doing 'something', the test went fine as well. Ill put everything back together again and try it again.

could you post the settings you now have, there's probably something silly in there

go to network settings, export, and then paste the contents of the file into this thread (don't forget to remove usernames and passwords)

Did you test the new settings? Any errors reported?
