    Shopcart Errors

    Hello.
We have started to have a number of problems with Protx and our site. Our site is www.tapnation.co.uk
When customers are forwarded from our site to enter the Protx payment provider the computers appears to 'freeze up' / 'Times out' which then means the customer has to try again. This can happen 2 - 3 times before the payment will be taken successfully.
Other times the payment will have gone through but will then 'freeze up' before they recieve confirmation making the customer think payment has been unsuccessful.
It appears to be a problem when handing over from our site to theirs or vice versa.
This is causing us problems as we are recieving orders without payments or other times the order has been placed a number of times resulting in us having to cancel duplicate orders and refund the customer.

I have spoken to protx who replied:-
"The most likely cause of this problem is on the redirect URL. When the customer comes to our payment after a successful transaction they will then be directed back to your website. If there is a problem with your success or failure page then the customer will be greeted by a blank or a screen saying transaction authorising. You will need to check there your success and failure URL's and see if there are any issues when them."

After checking the 'Error Log' I appear to have a large number of entrys the same. They are :-

Program = SHOPCART, Program version = 308 , HTTP Server = Apache/1.3.33 (Unix) mod_gzip/, Return code = 999 , Date and Time = 2006/04/22 03:06, Internal Errors = There is no valid input parameters for the script! Check the referencing HTML code!

I read in another thread that I should 'compact databases' which I have done and then restart actinic and then 'website purge and refresh'.
When trying to 'website purge and refresh' I keep getting an error message saying

The web script was unable to delete the specified file from the web site because
    the file's permissions are locked.

    Recommendation:
    Retry or...
Abort and manually delete the file
Do not try Ignore. If you try to ignore this message
you may end up with duplicate orders (if you
are downloading orders) or further upload
    errors.
    Resolution:
If retry fails, manually delete the file from the web site.
    Command: delete Filename: ver.fil

Retry does fail so should I delete file ver.fil via my FTP program? And will then an upload sort the problem out? Or am I barking up the wrong tree completely. Any suggestions / help would be much appreciated.

Why not copy it temporarily and delete the original on the site as the message says, or just rename it and then try again.

I found that I had to manually remove all .fil files and all .cat files. Actinic then allowed me to refresh the website. Hopefully the payment problems we're experiencing will now be eliminated. I assume that nobody else is having problems with taken payments via Protx?

We have had a couple of payment failures today with PROTX - the customer had tried at least twice to enter the transaction.

I think I seem to have sorted the problem out. The problem has been happening ever since I upgraded Actinic using the latest patch. I have found some information in another thread that suggested increasing the version number in OCCUpgrade.ini by 1 (Found at the root of the OCCUpgrade folder in actinic). I have done this and upgraded the site and payments seem to be going through first time now.
