Adding Google Search Box

Can anybody help with the correct file location for the free Google code to create the search box on my site?

This is probably something that's been resolved years ago, but I couldn't find a relevent thread on the subject (but lots of interesting unrelated ones!).

Personally I wouldn't want it on my site. The Actinic search will give better local site results and I also don't want to give people an option to use the web search and leave to go to a competitor.
