New Website design - backup before redesign

    Hi,

Our site is looking kinda messy - What I would like to do is to use a different design template and reapply to my existing live website.

Can anyone tell me which bakup i should be using, and any pitfalls i need to look out for?

I'd hate to have to add all the items again for example, or to lose any data,

I would suggest a snapshot of the site and also a zip of all the files in the site 1 folder

This should save everything and enable you to go back to it

When you make snapshots at reqular intervalls you can play and always get back if it goes pearshaped

Design changes, even changing to a completely different Theme, won't affect any of your products, or brochure pages.

But the Snapshot, as Chris suggests, is always an excelent idea before making any big changes.

If made to external storage, regular Snapshots also protect you from hard-disk failure and other system killer problems.
