No Index page???, only index of directories

    Hi,

Relative newbie here, designed a site and tried to upload it. Everything configured and it showed all the files as being uploaded and OK.

However, when I type in the URL instead of the Index page which I said actinic could replace I get a list of my folders.

I am assuming that I should be able to see any updates to my site immediately by using my browser?

    Server Details

    Catalog URL
    http://www.ausinks.com/acatalog/

    CGI-BIN URL
    http://www.ausinks.com/cgi-bin/

    Codebase
    ./

Path from CGI-BIN to acatalog directory
    ./acatalog/

    FTP Details
Host USername and password are correct

    Path to CGI-BIN
    /public_html/cgi-bin/

Path from CGI-BIN to acatalog Directory as Viewed by the FTP server (leave blank unless advised)
    ./acatalog/

Can I manually upload this or am I doing something obvious wrong?

If anyone can shine some light on this it would be much appreciated

It does not look as though you have uploaded yet. Try clicking Web | Update Website and see if that gets the files out there.

    Are you using Brochure pages?

In Design | Options - Site Defaults, did you specify index.html as the base page name?

      Hi,

when you enter a url without a pagename the browser will look for a default index page .. these are usualluy index.htm(l) or default.htm(l) ... if any of these are not found it will display a list of files in the folder (unless the server has that option disabled) ... rename the main shop page (the top section) to index.html and that will prevent the file listings

          still no luck

Hey guys, thanks for the quick response.

I did as you suggested and still have nothing to show for it, even though it says it is uploading and everything is ok.

          Its driving me nuts.

In preview it looks good but it just wont upload and work.

Can it be done manually and will it work correctly if it is?

This couldn't be this easy. Are you perhaps looking at a cached copy of the page showing the directory? Tried emptying cache, temp internet files, etc.?

Robert - what does the network test say?

I can't see any Actinic stuff there so if it is uploading it could be a paths issue and it is being placed elsewhere. Have you connected via FTP to the site to see what folders and files are being placed?

As per the OP you can't manually upload the site as Actinic compiles the pages on the fly from the database information it stores with the templates.
