    Site Change

    Hi

I am changing a part frontpage part actinic site to be fully built within actinic...

Could someone tell me how to go about redirecting the user i.e. if they click an old search engine result for a page that no longer exists i would like the user to be forwarded to the site home page.

I am assuming I need to do something with .htaccess file but do not have the foggiest where to start.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

you need to be looking for information for a 301 permanant redirect using htaccess , as Jont says this has been discussed recently.

there are a couple of pre requisites - one you use unix hosting and two your host allows htaccess
