Taking orders when Out of Stock

To create a Back Order, you must be able to supply at least one line item. I would like to monitor stock, but continue to take orders when local stock runs out. 'We keep a small stock of popular items. If we cannot ship immediately, you will be advised to expect a delay of two weeks as items are made to order'

If you would not like to display an out of stock message as this will not allow a person to add to cart, you can add this message to the product description and then, in Business Settings | Options | Stock monitoring and enter a negative figure for "Default Suspend orders if below".
