I have a few links from websites selling similar products to me. However, from previous threads in this forum I suspect the links have been set up incorrectly. Does the link (underlined text) need to contain relevant text to my site eg 'Stardust Kids for cool kids clothes'. See my link on the bottom right hand side of the following site:

The link is contained in a natural way in a phrase that includes your page name - I would class that as an excellent link.

In order to gain maximum effect your link text should contain your keywords eg Stardust Kids - Cool Kids Clothing This way maximum page rank will be given to your linked to page page. If you are targeting several keywords then get 50 links with the above text then change it to the next keyword eg Stardust Kids - Elvis T Shirts.
