    downloading orders, being blocked?

    Hi. Please help me!!
I've just changed computers. My new computer (lap top) has Norton anti virus installed, and is quite sensitive. I've turned every thing off but I still cannot fully download my orders.
When I download I get a message saying "an attempt was made to access an order past its end", then I have to click OK, then it says "the heavily encrypted data from the order blob appears to be corrupt. However, the majority of the order was retrieved. You must contact the customer of the order #(order number) and ask them for their credit card details"
I then have to click OK, and the order is there but with no credit card details.
I don't know what to do.
Today was my first download with my new computer, and I've been messing about all day and I can't get it to work.
    Please help!!

    Many thanks,
    Matt Savage

This seems like a version/encryption issue as opposed to norton issue.

When you installed it onto the new machine, did you install the exact same v7.x.x version and also did you ensure you copied across the encryption key located within the Housekeeping | Security area, as this is more than likely the issue...

Also, if the uploaded version was using scripts from an earlier version and you loaded your laptop with a newer version, then it could be the site is running on those incompatible scripts (just possible)..

Would (if you still have it) get the original key and put that into your laptio machine and then try the download.

      THanks for your replay.
So if I out my original V7 on my new laptop, and use the original security stuff that should work.
Also, should I simply copy and paste the whole of 'Site1'?
      Many thanks,
      Matt

One way to resolve this is to go to the original installation of actinic on the original PC, go to housekeeping ,security, and copy and paste all 4 keys into notepad. and copy this notepad file to the laptop.

Now open actinic on the laptop, housekeeping , security, paste the 4 keys

        download....

          Hi Matt,

I had a similar problem a few weeks ago. Just do as Jo says, that will fix it all up. I managed to fix the problem by uploading the site again and then downloading the orders. The problem for me was that the encryption keys were different between my two laptops. Apparently it is a security feature which prevents unauthorised people accessing the credit card details should someone get access to your FTP details.
