Hash symbol instead of pound sign in invoice email

The subject of this post sums it up really. For some time Actinic has been sending out invoices with the # sign ahead of prices etc instead of £. I had a good hunt on the knowledge base and the forum but no luck. Any help would be much appreciated.

Tom,

Did you make any script changes at any time or have you perhaps reformated the price variable %s anywhere? Check Design | Options | Site Defaults.. 'Receipt Currency Label' and you should see 'Prices in %s'.
