    Swaping computers

    I have just a new PC and want to transfer my 2 actinic sites accross completley and i wont be using the other pc for actinic anymore.
    Do i just create a snapshot and use that on the other PC or do i need to copy all the images, templates etc across?

    TIA

    The snapshot should pick everything up... worth checking anything in the "additional files" list to check they are transferred also

        Mark - have a quick search for "Actinic on a 2nd computer" which also contains a couple of points that will help you do this smoothly.

          Jont, I always thought snapshots don't include the .pl files and therefore any script changes or modifications...?

            Kermy,

            A snasphot contains everything pertaining to that particular site, that is in effect the entire contents of the Site1 or corresponding folder. As Jont mentioned, you will only need to look out for the files included in Advanced | Additional Files.

            Kind regards,

              Thanks for the answers,
              i have managed to get it ttransefered , i cheated a little, i networked the 2 pcs and draged and droped the whole actinic folder across including a snapshot and then improted the snapshot, it seems to have worked for both of the sites.

                Mark (or anyone)

                I have a new pc and need to do the same but my question is;

                When you dragged a dropped the whole Actinic Folder, had you already installed Actinic, via the original disc, on to the new pc?

                TIA

                  Pete - you are best installing Actinic first and then using the snapshot method to install the site - Mark dragged them over but still snapshotted the site - this will avoid any paths / registry issues

                    And don't forget to patch your install! Otherwise Actinic will moan about incompatible versions

                      Thanks for the advice John & Rob.

                      I was hoping there was a way without going through the upgrade/patch route but guess no short cut there.
