    Removing the catalog button

    Hi,

I am new to the whole actinic scene and need to delete / remove the catalog button from the navigation bar found in the smart acticnic template. I have looked through other posts and have had no luck. Any ideas please?

    thank you

    Aran,

welcome to Actinic, and the forum.

To remove any on of the 'buttons' in the navigation bar, you have to remove the whole navigation bar, and then add back in the specific navigation items you want.

There is quite detailed information on how to do this in the online help on the Contents tab under Design Options | the Navigation Tab

      hi bill,

I have done as you suggested but i can only reinstate "home" and "contact us" buttons. How do I insert buttons for other brochure pages?

      thanks

What theme are you using? Should have asked that up front

maybe it would be useful to download the advanceduser guide from the Actinic download area.

At the back of this there is a list of Netquotevars (NQV).
You will need to reinstate the individual links for navigation, these are preceeded with NAV

          ie NAVBHOME (NAVBHOMELINK)
          NAVBSEARCH etc etc

locate the NQV for the links you want to re-instate.

and place them in act_primary, or act_brochure_primary

the theme we used is the "smart" template found in the "specific designs"

              hi pinbrook,

I had looked in the advanced users guide and could not see how to reinstate the "buttons" for brochure pages. Any other ideas?

OK - you are going to hate this. You need to turn the headerguide/footerguide back on by reversing the change you made, then create all your brochure pages - this will create the actual button images in the site1 folder.

Once all the brochure pages are done, you will have to hand code each of the links like this

                <a href="About_Us.html"><img src="about_us.gif"></a>
