    Multi-User not detecting users

    Hi there
We have Business Multi-User which seems to be working OK but it does not always detect the other users on the network. Therefore it does actually sometimes allow 2 users to look at the same order and it allows 2 Administrator-Class users to be on at the same time.

Why is this and how do I fix it ?

    Cheers

    Jez

      Hi Jez

Are the client machines all pointing to the main database when you log in? You can check this by going to File | Sites and click the cites directory button.

The path displayed should be the mapped drive, and pointing to the 'sites' folder on the main machine.

Also, are all the pcs logging into the same site? You can also check this in File | Sites, it is possible to have different administrators to log into different sites at the same time, but only one administrator can log on to the same sit at once, all other users that log onto that site will only be granted 'order processor' rights.

      Hope that helps

Thanks for that. Yes we are all pointing at the same datafile on the same mapped drive.

Only occasionally has it stopped 2 administrators logging in. Normally we are able to have 2 admins logged in at the same time. We can also both open the same order at the same time!!

I thought these features we fundamental to MU working properly.

It shouldnt allow you to do that, as you said, it normally pops up a message stating that an administrator is already logged in.

What version of Multi User are you using, you can find out by going to Help | About?
