Ordering links alphabetically on section page

Hi everyone - a newbie question.

I am currently playing with a trial version of Actinic v7 and am generally getting the hang of everything.

I am having a problem working out how to put in alphabetical order the sub section links shown on a section page. Hopefully the following examples will explain what I mean.

This is what I want -

    Section - Widgets
    Sub section - Product A
    Sub section - Product B
    Sub section - Product C

This is what I currently have -

    Section - Widgets
    Sub section - Product C
    Sub section - Product A
    Sub section - Product B

The only way I can find to get the sub sections into alphabetical order is to keep dragging and dropping the sub sections into the main section until the order is correct. But there must be an easier way? I've had a search on here but cannot find the answer!

    Thanks for your help.

Hold SHIFT and then drag and drop to re-order

Jan over at mole-end.biz also has a small utility for re-ordering sections

The only alternate I know of to the drag and drop method is an add-on available from Mole-End.

Can I add a quick follow one question?

Is there a quick and easy way to organise the order in which various fragments, etc, appear on the page?

With fragments simply drag them over the fragment or product under which you want them to appear - they will move beneath the item you drop them over

Thanks John - I've just realised that the question I asked was not quite what I meant.

I have a section with several sub sections. At the top of the section page are the links to the sub section pages. I then have a fragment. I want the fragment to appear above the links - is this possible?

Hopefully that is the last of my newbie questions for today!

OK - click on the section and in the "layout" tab there is a box for "location and arrangement of section list" - click override and tick "bottom" - that should move the list beneath the fragment. You can change this on a section by section basis or set globally

Terrific - that makes total sense now.

I have just about worked out some complicated discount stuff but that had me beaten for some reason. Thanks again for your help.

Just keep that phrase in mind when you start tackling the design templates

I've not even started to think about design templates yet.

I have been busy playing with nuts and bolts stuff to see if the package will work for us .......... if we proceed with it I am expecting some late nights fighting with templates!
