hi, you just need to click on 'edit' in the mail tab.
When you send a email to a customer you choose from the pull down menu a template. sent,received etc, next to this is an edit button.
I should have worded my question better. I want to add this to the email that gets sent after the customer has placed the online order, not the email you send from the orders tab.
Our permanent secretary is on holiday soon and I want to put a para in that email that the office is covered by part time staff.

Off hand I think it's Act_BuyerEmail.txt you will find it in the SIte1 folder. Otherwise you can access it via Advanced|Template Manager (Grey Style Format) - Miscellaneous - Email - Buyer.
