    Easy Space Shared SSL

    Hi,

I've been asked to contact you by easyspace as they are saying there is nothing wrong their end.

I'm setting up a shared ssl

    My Merchant's CGI-BIN URLs is: http://www.farmerschoicefreerange.co.uk/cgi-bin

But ever time I try to load up to this path I get Error

"Actinic is not able to run the CGI scripts on the server. It appears as if
the scripts are not installed. The most likely cause is that you have an
incorrect CGI-BIN URL. If you've never uploaded the site, then you should do
it before a download of orders. If you've uploaded the site ever, then Run
Web | Configure Web Site Details... to review your web site configuration."

I informed easyspace and they said

"the web server that your domain is on is running perl version 5.8.0 and so i
would advise you to contact Actinic support regarding the error you are
getting in the Actinic software for further advice."

    I hope this makes sense?

Running an Actinic site on a Shared SSL cert is not always straight forward as the paths for ssl and non ssl are mostly in seperate locations or needs some tweaking dependant on the server and settings.

Assuming this is an ssl function and not plain perl issue, then post your current network settings (less usename and passwords) and maybe someone else on easyspace will be able to provide knowledgable input from there experience and settings with them.

If you do a search for fasthosts ssl then this will show you plenty on this subject also..

Probably better to search on easyspace rather than fasthosts.

There are plently of posts on easyspace

        My Current network settings are:

        Catalog URL: http://www.farmerschoicefreerange.co.uk/acatalog/

        CGI-BIN URL: http://www.farmerschoicefreerange.co.uk/acatalog/

        CODEBASE ./

        Path from cgi to acatalog:
        ../acatalog/

these are currently work for a none ssl site.

          this should be

          http://www.farmerschoicefreerange.co.uk/cgi-bin/

or substitute the name of your cgibin

Please post ALL of your network settings ie go to network settings, export, save file to disk

remove passwords, username and post the remaining info

Well as Techno says (it seems we are echoing each other) you wouldn't normally have your cgi scripts in the acatalog folder.

Try configuring from the Web Menu, "configure website detail"

Try configuring from the Web Menu, "configure website detail"
Ok so you have done this, but what were the resultant network settings when you did this?

If you read other posts about Easyspace you willl see that it is usual to have the cgi-bin called cgi-bin

I found this thread with network settings for easyspace

                      http://community.actinic.com/showthr...ight=easyspace

                      use post 5
and then add the 2 lines of corrections from post 6

                      PATHTOCGIBIN = ../acatalog/
                      PATHFROMCGITOACATLOG = *blank*

leave the path to perl as PATHTOPERL /usr/bin/perl if you are using unix server

                          Problem solved.

May I just say thank you for everybodies help with this one.

It took a unhappy phone call to Easyspace and amazingly enough it suddenly started to work.

                          Thanks Again
