CSV export/imprt help

When I export Catalogue information as a .csv, import into Microsoft Works Spreadsheet, make a change, save as .csv and re-import into Actinic, I get an error message that reads:

syntax arror in the Header directive in line 1, wrong delimiter.

Having a look in notepad, it looks like Excel is adding quotation marks around the headers and field names. Is this is causing the problem, how can I stop this happening?

use open office calc

it lets you save without the marks. and in proper tab delimited.

Thanks - I downloaded it - it's a great package, but I got the same result, no import.

Any ideas?

From Actinic I export to csv as comma delimited and ANSI then opening in Excel (saving as same type - csv) and reimporting causes no problems.

A side issue note - I used to have a problem because Excel truncates long cells when opening the csv file - hence I couldn't import large (coded) fragments - and was not aware of it until viewing the site. I had to split my fragments ito smaller ones. (The limit for a cell in Excel 2003 is 32767 characters)
