discounts?

hi all,

i have a bit of a problem, i want to give my account holders a coupon code so that i can give them some kind of discount but have no idea where to even start!!!

all i want to do is email them every month with a code which enables them to have eg.10% when they purchase something.

Nice website dude! Surprised you haven't had Agent Provocateur knocking in your door yet! You might want to check the spelling a bit more carefully though: Sex tip of the month - "the moure often"...

Anyway, I digress. You need to go to View > Discount and Surcharges Settings and create a new discount in 'Order Levels'. You then set up your discount description ('June 06 email discount' for example) then set up what the basis off the discount is ('£10 off when you spend £100' for example) and create the discount code. You can also set it up to be date sensitive and expire automatically.

You can set up individual product discounts in 'Cart Contents' by creating certain product groups that are available at a discount, also triggered via a discount code.

Whichever method you choose you need to make sure that the customer can enter a discount code by turning this on in the 'miscellaneous' tab.

If you play around with it for 10 minutes you'll see this is actually a really great tool and you can quite finely control your store discounts.
